NOTICE OF APPLICATION FOR APPROVAL OF WITHDRWAL OF AUTHORIZATION

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that Hang Seng Life Limited (the “Company”), a company incorporated in Hong Kong, has ceased to carry on any class of insurance business in or from Hong Kong since 19 November 2007 and that the Company has no in force insurance policies or contracts issued or underwritten in or from Hong Kong and has no outstanding or other claims whatsoever under any insurance policies or contracts issued or underwritten in or from Hong Kong.
Pursuant to a sanction obtained by the Company from the Court of First Instance of Hong Kong on 8 November 2007, all the insurance policies or contracts of the Company in force as at 18 November 2007 were transferred on 19 November 2007 to become insurance policies or contracts of Hang Seng Insurance Company Limited. The principal place of business in Hong Kong of Hang Seng Insurance Company Limited is located at 83 Des Voeux Road Central, Hong Kong.
With all the relevant obligations and liabilities transferred, the Company now proposes that its authorization to carry on insurance business in or from Hong Kong shall be withdrawn pursuant to section 40(1) of the Insurance Ordinance, Chapter 41 of the Laws of Hong Kong, and an application for such withdrawal has been made to the Insurance Authority.
Any person having any objection to the above proposed withdrawal of authorization should notify the company in writing, with a copy of the notice to the Insurance Authority whose address is at 19/F, 41 Heung Yip Road, Wong Chuk Hang, Hong Kong on or before 9 January 2022.
